Our Bridled Stallion blends the uniqueness of a bridled knight design with it size to create one of the most elegant chess sets in our collection. From the pawn to the king, all six pieces are designed with thick columns that add extra weight and stability on the chess board. The hand carved knights with their bridle and reigns are intricately detailed and with the replication only the very best craftsmen in the world can achieve. The king features a unique, one of a kind finial and the queen coronet has sharp distinct points.

The king is 4.75" tall with a base of 1.875". The king weighs an impressive 4.3 ounces and the complete set weighs 5 pounds. Pieces have thick green billiard cloth for easy sliding across the chess board and as with most of our chess sets, we include spare queens. New Exclusive Staunton Chess Set in Red Sandalwood & Boxwood - 3.5" King Review

From our Players Series collection, the New Exclusive Staunton has all of the features that an avid chess player and collector looks for in an upper-end Staunton chess set. Pieces have a wide yet elegant profile with a broad base and heavy weighting. The knight is tall and stout with intricate detail. The red sandalwood is gorgeous with a blend of rich colors that range from coral red to dark burgundy. The boxwood is beautifully grained and with the ideal medium amber color.

The king is 3.5" tall and has a traditional formee cross. The queen has an outward arching crown with 10 points. The bishop has a large miter with an unusually wide slot with rounded corners that you find on only the finest sets. The knight has features such as the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth that are meticuoulosly carved and perfectly duplicated from knight to knight. The rooks are stout and heavy with a shallow parapet and 6 crenels that are sharply cut. The pawns are tall and have large heads.

This wonderful mid-size set will make your chess game so much the better with its elegance, heavy weighting, and colorful pieces.
