From the king's crown to the oversize collars on the king, queen, and bishop, the Royal Staunton chess set has unique features not found on our other Staunton chess sets. The oversize collars and tapered base design creates a profile that is extraordinarily elegant. And as with all our ebony chess sets, the ebony is pure black and polished to a beautiful luster. The king stands 4" tall and has a base diameter of 1 5/8". Chess pieces are double weighted, cushioned with black leather pads, and comes packaged in The Chess Store black and gold foil box. You also get 4 queens with this chess set, always a plus! We recommend a chess board with 2 1/4" squares. (*Does not include a Chess Board).
