The pawns are represented by row of Roman soldiers with with their hopllite short sword and shield. Chess pieces are hand-cast in solid zinc and then copper and brass plated. Chess pieces are then lacquered to keep the lustrous finish from ever tarnishing. This chess set is also available in complete chess set package includes the Manopoulos chess board and wood case for storage.
